Dia duit, my name is Romy and I am the creator of THE HIPPIES APOTHECARY.

I created THE HIPPIES APOTHECARY with the intention of empowering you with the wisdom to know thyself, by helping you to remember the true sacredness of your own body, just as you are.

I consciously harnessed the most sacred, divine and nourishing ingredients found in nature, to create synergistic blends for body, mind and soul, that go into each handmade offering, helping to create a sacred space for your divine selfcare rituals.

 When I first started on this path, I had been a Make-up artist and had worked within the skincare industry. I found it was the people more often than the products, that inspired me daily.  

While still using conventional mainstream products, I became increasingly conscious of the ingredients I was putting on to my skin and as a result, into my body. Even though I had been a trained professional within my field, I had been unaware of what made up most of the ingredients that were contained within each product I used. I also found that the majority of people I spoke to were also unaware of what these ingredients contained.

This is because most ingredients within mainstream products are made up of unrecognizable synthetic chemicals. 

Most of these products are filled with cheaper synthetic versions of natural ingredients, synthetic chemical stabilisers, synthetic colours, synthetic fragrances, synthetic chemical fillers, synthetic chemical preservatives, water, water and more water. Most of these mainstream products can range from 70-95% water. This is to bulk the products out and to use less, more costly synthetic ingredients.

So not only are we filling ourselves with synthetic chemicals, that our bodies struggle to identify and integrate and can cause a myriad of issues, but we’re also mostly paying for WATER, a cheaper alternative for these companies that practice this unsustainable method, by shipping mostly water all over the world.

Our skin is the largest organ in our bodies and can absorb up to 60% of any ingredients that are applied to it, within the first 10 seconds of application. After absorption into the skin, these ingredients will make their way into our bloodstream within 26 seconds, filter around our bodies and over time, can build up around our organs and in our bodies. This is because these man made chemicals do not harmoniously resonate with our bodies natural operating systems. 

Products ranging from body care to hair care, skin care and make up, in the long term, create disharmonious vibrations within our energy body that can lead to toxicity within our physical body, when we allow the synthetic chemical ingredients to build up within our system.  
I say all this not to create fear, but instead to create self love and bring light + awareness to your sacred body.

This led me to search for ingredients that were not just beneficial for our bodies, but also sustainable for the earths body as well, which includes the land and seas. I found that ingredients sourced from Mother Earth – Gaia, had the most harmonious resonance within our bodies, as this is where our bodies are from, and where they will return.

At the same time, I was also initiated onto my soul path. I was asked to look deeper within - not just with what we see as our physical bodies and through our five senses, but also what we can feel with our other, more intuitive and subtle senses.  

These findings led me to search for the highest quality products that were not only sustainable and 100% natural but also holistic - taking in to account not just the physical body but also the emotional, mental and energetic aspects as well.

 I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for and felt a calling to create these offerings, to empower people with the wisdom of their own bodies, this is where the idea for THE HIPPIES APOTHECARY manifested.

All creations are lovingly handmade by me in Éire, in the most natural, sustainable and eco friendly way, with the highest quality - 100% natural & holistic ingredients - certified organic when possible and infused with high vibrational energies + intentions for holistic healing. 

T H A cremes are anhydrous, which means they are waterless, so there is no need for any preservatives, making them incredibly concentrated, powerful, long lasting and sustainable with a low carbon footprint. They contain absolutely no synthetic ingredients.

T H A soaps are made using a traditional cold process method which naturally packs them full of glycerin & natural skin foods that can take 4-12 weeks to cure, using only the elements – Air - and contain no chemical hardeners, parabens or sulfates. This slow process helps to create sustainable and mindful use.

T H A only uses sustainable earth friendly packaging - that can be returned to its source by either reusing, recycling, biodegrading or composting. Our aluminum tins are reusable and recyclable, our compostable eco labels are Tree Free - hemp and sugarcane, our drawstring pouches are reusable, unbleached, certified organic + Fairtrade cotton, and all our packaging used for mailing is eco friendly including recyclable cardboard + paper tape and recycled paper envelopes.
